Solved Microphone is not being recognized

My Sony VAIO CA is not recognizing that I have a built-in microphone next to the WebCam. When I right click on the speaker icon in the lower-right corner and click "Recording devices" it shows I have none, even though I do. What can be done? There is no specific driver for it on the Sony site. How come my computer can't recognize the built-in microphone?

Did you install the webcam driver/software? I'm guessing that the necessary driver/software for the mic is part of that.

P.S. The full model number of the laptop would help, Vaio CA is the series of laptop, not the model number.

The model is VPCCA290X. The only "driver" offered on the site is the WebCam Companion 4 software. I just updated it and when I open it and click "Audio", under "Audio devices" is a blank space

Ooh, nevermind, I fixed it! I right-clicked on the speaker icon, clicked "Recording devices", right-clicked on the empty space and clicked "Show disabled devices" and then I enabled it. I'm not sure how it became disabled, but it's working now
