Microphone not working

Hey


So i just built my new PC, ASRock P67 PRo3 B3 mobo. Everything is working fine except microphone, i've installed all drivers from DVD included to my mobo, and it still does not work.

About audio connection, i connected 1 HD Audio cable from my PC case to my mobo, there is also AC97 cable which i didnt connect, previously I had Asus P8P67 LE mobo with same realtek and i couldnt get it to work too :/

Ah and by the way, output jack is working fine, i have sound on my front and back panel, but no input working in both.

Try updating the sound driver from the ASRock site.

Disconnect the HD Audio cable for the front panel and then try the rear mic jack and see if it will work.

I just ordered an ASRock Z77 Professional motherboard for a new PC build.

You mean HD Audio cable that is connected to my mobo? and then connect mic to back panel straight to mobo red jack?

And i already tried many drivers, many versions.
