Microphone Problem??

Ok basically my TravelMate 5520 Laptop has a built in microphone but it doesn't seem to be working. Below is the screen show of "Sound" in the control panel. The green bar seems to be constantly high even when there is no sound. I have tried both of the microphones shown below even though I only have one built in microphone. I try recording and no sound is recorded. In desperate need of a solution, REP will be given.

First of all Does Your Laptop have Two Mics for stereo sound and if you can post a pic of the mic properties for each mic that is on that list
