It's a nice paradox my microphone.. i'm on a asus k52ju + win7x64

After several complains from a few friends i tried to fix the microphone recording, and here are the results:

I've heard the micro myself using the following option

and my voice is too low or barely audible, but if i it the laptop with 1 finger, or do any kind of drumming (for example typing on the keyboard) it's audible as hell.

What could be wrong with it? It does pretty much the opposite of what it should

Here are some settings that might help:

Edit: also the drivers are updated, (always have been), and increasing the microphone volume only agravates the problem

But, the actual microphone? e.g. the built in the PC mic, or some other that you are connecting using the mic jack on the PC.

I assume by your response, that its the Mic built into the PC. Is this correct?

Has it ever worked? as it sounds like a defective mic. Is this PC still under warranty? If it is contact ASUS about the problem and suspected defective mic.

Do you have an external Computer Mic that you can try?
