Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery is gone!

When I check my device manager, Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery is missing, thus the battery bar on the bottom is also gone, and the box for enabling the battery bar is greyed out.

Somebody Please Help me!

Have you tried a restore point to a time before the problem?
There is an excellent tutorial done by Brink, which you will find here.

Hope either one of these suggestions will help you out.

I could not find a restore point before this happened... i dont know what to do now. the ACPI battery control thing is completely gone, and when i use aida64 to figure out what is wrong with it, it says that the computer is running on AC power, with no battery even when i unplug the cord....
Any other suggestions?

Hi ikim12, try this sfc /scannow. Follow the tutorial, there three options to try to get a fix.
Post back results and we'll go from there.:)

Did option 2, and cmd said that it found a problem, and that I had to restart the computer.

Does the installation have a system Recovery option? Many OEM installs have this option at reboot or in the Start menu somewhere.

Look in Device Manager for the ACPI Compliant device under Batteries. If it is there it most likely will have a yellow icon beside it. Whether or not it has the icon, click its properties and uninstall it, deleting the driver (probably won't have one).
Restart and see if Windows will install it automatically.

No.. ACPI battery control is totally gone out of the device manager, and system recovery did not help with anything neither........... IDK what is going on I saw that there was another post like this about 2 years ago, and noticed that someone helped him out, using AIDA 64 or something....

Please post a screenshot of your Device manager open.
Also download Malware Bytes Free, update it and run a full system scan, shutdown remove power and restart, see if that helps.

I attached the capture of the device manager, and tried the malware thing, did not find anything, even tried the restart w/o the power, but did not do anything... do you think this is a Hardware issue?

I see "Uknown Device" which may be the culprit. Double click it and on the Details Tab, click Hardware ID then post a snip of that. We may be able to see if, in fact, that is the ACPI Battery.

Also you can try uninstalling it and then update drivers to see if Windows can fix it.
