Hi there
the world is full of slick advertising agencies suggesting corporations abandon well liked and trusted logos for rediculous new stuff that bears no relationship to the product they are trying to sell.
Example --British Post Office -- Royal Mail a trusted brand changed to "Consignia" of all things -- as soon as I heard this my first thought was this means "Consigned to the Bin".
Conservative Party in the UK -- swapped an acceptable logo for a rediculous Green Tree which is in NO way passes its message over to its core supporters or to any potential recruits -- just makes it look SILLY.
B.T with that stupid Trumpet logo
Andersens Consulting changing to Accenture -- now laughingly known as ACCIDENTURE to people in the I.T industry.
and so on and so on.
If something works and is trusted then as an Engineer I suscribe to the Engineers adage --IF IT'S NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT.
Why on earth should MS get rid of its Windows logo. What would it do better !!.
If you want to see a prime example of "Modern accessible" logos that are a total laughing stock look no further than that GHASTLY (obviously selected by a "PC Correct committee") logo being used for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Cheers
