Hi guys,

A friend of mine showed me her laptop today and she showed me something that i find very weird. Her Microsoft Office 2013 has an FPS counter on the upper right side and lower right side of the window pane! I have no idea where did this come from and if it is even possible to remove it. She's greatly annoyed by it and I got very curios about this thats why I am posting it here. Btw, here's a screenshot of it.

As usual, any suggestion would be appreciated highly. :) Thanks!

Try pressing "Y" with an Office 2013 doc open.

Does this problem occur with all your Word documents or only this one. I notice it looks like some number is also on the Close or Exit button right up on the top RH edge of the document.

If it only occurs with this particular document it may be corrupted. If it occurs with all documents, try repairing Office.

To do that open Control Panel, select Programs & Features, right click on Office 2013, select Change & this will open a small panel with some repair options.

Looks like a generic FPS overlay....maybe a graphics card utility got activated, and it has nothing to do with Office at all?

It's a blank new document so i'm guessing it happens to all of it.

Following Golden's reply I Googled FPS on the web & it brought up some sites such as FRAPS & Raedon which are software that can be used in certain games for frame counting. I don't play games so I have no idea what they are used for, but if you have such a program on your computer you should open it & go through what options are available to turn it off. If you don't have any use for it then perhaps you can uninstall it.

Hope this may help.

Now that you've mentioned it, I do think that laptop has a radeon graphics built in. I do have to check that out..
