I've been using the same outlook 2010 for over a year now, with no problems..
2 days ago I started getting 'Microsoft Outlook has stopped working' messages.

The message pops up every time after about 30 seconds from starting Outlook.

I'm not particularly computer savvy, so forgive any details I may miss out.

I've made another outlook account under a different windows profile and it works just fine..so not sure what the problem is.
I've tried to make a new acct on the original profile, but still doesnt work.

Thanks. There is no error message other than 'Microsoft Office has stopped working' then it shuts down. I can click on help, but within 30 sec that message comes up and I cant read it, or do anything.

if you have another Office2007 application installed, like say Word or Excel
you can run the diagnostic test from there - at the bottom of the list that appears
when you click on the Office logo at the top-left of the screen - there's an option called "Excel (or Word) options"..

clicking here, will open another drop-down style box with an option to run the Diagnostics test from there..
the diagnostic test will cover the whole Office2007 installation..

- give it time to run..

Welcome to the windows 7 forums.

I use outlook 2010 and whenever ms issues an update to their office products, I have to go to control panel and programs & features. select outlook and select repair. It works for me.
Give it a shot..

Hopefully you have solved your problem by now. The same problem just started happening with me this AM. I tried all of the MS Outlook repair tools - which didn't help at all. I also created a new profile, but still had the same problem.

I finally came across a post that solved the problem. Run msconfig, select "hide all Microsoft Services" in the "Services" tab, then in the "Startup" tab, disable either all or some of the items until you find the culprit.

This worked for me. I'm still not sure exactly which item was causing the problem, as I only disabled about 4 different program update services on the list.

Are you saying that Outlook works fine in a different user account ?
If that is what you mean, then I'd say your other account ( profile ) is corrupted.

Just to be on the safe side, create another user account and try out using Outlook. If it also sails through without a hitch, then you other user account IS corrupted.

What to do with a corrupted profile :
Fix a corrupted user profile

Though this is a very old post, I still want to share the fix. Apparently, this was caused by Nitro Pro 7. So I uninstalled it, deleted the Microsoft Outlook profile in the Windows Registry (HKCU) and reconfigure the email account.
