Microsoft plans price war to stymie Chromebook growth

Microsoft's COO yesterday promised that his company and its army of OEMs would compete on price with Google's Chromebooks, a milestone in Microsoft's battle against the small but encroaching enemy.

At Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) Monday, Chief Operations Officer Kevin Turner, the executive who drives sales, both internally and through the firm's vast partner network, pledged that Microsoft would "redefine the value category" with notebooks as inexpensive as $199.

With all the problems I'm finding with overheating of Chromebooks; if it was me I would address that problem first and use it as a selling point.
People for what ever reason seem to think you can ask something like a Chromebook to do a desktops or quality laptops job and not create heat which must be dissipated.
They seem to get hot just doing internet things and cloud things.
The plus side; one would have something to warm their lunch with.
