Microsoft possibly acquiring Nvidia?

I sure hope Nvidia decides to not merge with neither, they make very good graphics cards and I don't want to see nither "Microsoft GeForce 680" or $1,000 for a 512MB card.

Could be that Nvidia needs taking over to survive. The advent of good graphics onboard the CPU surely means that the bottom and lower mid range of the GPU market shrinks or disappears. That's where the money is.
That leaves Nvidia with CUDA, Physx and the possibilities of the Tegra chip.

This is also my personnal wish. Although I would like them to fix their ego and bring back sponsors like XFX, BFG, etc. Kinda lonely in that department beside EVGA and Asus...

amen to this. you can bet if there was a microsour / nvidia merger the new lower pricing we are currently would go right out the window. we have seen this with other products microsour has cornered the market on.

This is becoming disgusting that one company owns almost everything. As I mentioned in another thread, next is us. These companies spend millions on their R&D teams for what, to eat up another company (pacman) what happens when their is no one to eat up, they eat themself up......game over.

This broke the previous relationship Microsoft had with nVIDIA and saw a new contractor taking care of the Xbox graphics.

Most of use prefer PC over console for few reasons:
Better graphics and sometimes extras come with PC versions of games;
You can't to high-graphic Photoshop on consoles;
On PC games you can insert some "mods" to re-spark additional interest into the game;
Some feel more comfortable using a keyboard & mouse.
