The Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) Ongoing Beta Program has started letting testers in and is already handing out build 1.0.1676.0. MSE is so far available in 39 markets.

Its not like they finished and released the final version, gave everyone a pat on the back, said good work and told them to come back in 6 months to start on the next version. They will ALWAYS be working on newer versions.

Thats for you to decide, I will say I recommend MSE to everyone. Its free, does its job and doesn't bug the user.

Its what you'd expect from paid AV. lol

yeah i heard its pretty good. Does it hav a web scanner so if you click a dodgy link on google or something, does it block that webpage from connecting?

Not that I am aware of, but its real-time scanner does pick up things as close to instantly and humanly possible.
