Microsoft Security Essentials will not allow access to NAS drive

My PC is running Windows 7 professional.

I have a DNS-323 NAS enclosure

Until recently, this set up has been working fine.
From last week I can no longer access the DNS-323 through Windows explorer. My backup software also cannot see the drives.
I can however successfully ping the DNS-323 and access the DNS-323 software via my browser
The DNS-323 is configured with a static IP address

If I disable Microsoft Security Essentials, I can access the DNS-323 through Windows explorer. My backup software can also see the drives.

How do I configure Microsoft Security Essentials to always allow access to the DNS-323?

Please try the following...

Open Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE)
Uncheck: Real Time Protection
Click: Save changes

Use the Search Utility provided by the DNS-323 NAS to map the drive.

Now, open MSE and check to turn on: Real Time Protection
Click: Save changes

Can you now access the DNS-323 NAS?


If no-go, let's check the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size of your Wireless Network Connection.

Please do the following:

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
At the Command Prompt, copy/paste the following text inside the code box, and press: Enter

netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces

To copy the text contained/produced by the Command Prompt, click on the small command icon in the top left corner, and then choose:
Edit > Select All
Once again, Edit > Copy

Now,open Notepad, and paste the text to it.
