Microsoft Sidewinder X4 - Instant Viewer Too Fast, Makes me Furious

I'm searching everywhere, no luck on M$ support. My keyboart funciont of the instant viewer is out of control.
When I try to use it, the screen changes so fast, I can't even use this function at all.
The drivers are all up to date, it's the only keyboard installed on the machine. All other functions work fine.
What can it be?

too I use the sidewinder x 4 and the much better(in my view) the x 6 and the software I find needs updating form time to time and even reinstalling.
Now just as matter of interest there are also Windows updates for these devices too so have you had any recently or done what I have with my KB's?

What is the difference between Intellpoint and Keyboard Centre?
I use Keyboard Centre, and Intellpoint I tried to install but it says it has a newer version installed.
I looked for in the keyboard centre and I could not find a way to customize this.
The change of screens is way too fast.

Hmm a new one on me too I installed the Intelli stuff quite a while ago when I bought the x6 SW - it is something you cannot get anymore out here at least which is a shame because out of the two the x6 has it hands down over the x4 in both features and the key pad design - I like them flatter and the slightly raised ones on my x4 I am not keen on plus it is slightly larger and the NUM pad can be placed at either end of the main KB .
Now to get back on track the Intelli stuff comes though in my Windows updates and I have reinstalled it a couple of times now and I am guessing it is updating to that newer version you describe.
What the keyboard centre is I shall have to look up so I cannot comment on it right now.
I shall be offline for most of today in case you post back but will check this evening.

Ok too I have had a quick look and this is what I get for the keyboard centre for Windows 7 the very latest is the one fro Windows 8. Download Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.0 (formerly IntelliPoint and IntelliType Pro) from Official Microsoft Download Center
It clearly states it replaces the other stuff I mentioned though I have had no formal notice from Microsoft either by updates or info on reinstalling the Intelli stuff that I should be using the keyboard centre software and I must thank you for making me aware of it otherwise I would have been none the wiser
Pretty bad form from Microsoft in my view as it may have explain why I have had problems with the Intelli stuff after I have reinstalled it as I said a few times now.

Maybe this will fix your problem maybe not but worth try.

My version is the 2.3.188.0, I will try to reinstall it to see if it fixes it.
Strange that I look for this version on the Microsoft website and nothing comes up, only the version you posted there.

Yes too this is the original version I found and I found the 7 version by just typing for 7 in Google

If the icon is missing then I would suggest you run these just to check your system first

Now just out of interest what do you use to clean up the system and do you defrag the machine at any time?

I use CCleaner and as protection I'm using Kaspersky.
I thought that this function would be very useful, but never worked for me, everything else works just fine, programable keys, record macros.
Strange that I saw on youtube a guy using this function perfectly on a non microsoft keyboard.
I give up, I'll keep changing windows the usual way.

Hmm too I ma a fellow Kasperskyian - what version are you using as I have been through five versions now and the latest 2015 is by far and a way the least intrusive of them. Plus the GUI is far more user friendly and maybe it is Kaspersky not wanting to play with what you want. It has happened to me before.

Now if you want to try the 2015 you can still use the activation code you have for say the 2013 or whatever version you are running. All you need to do is download the 2015 application (I use the trial download they tend to pester you a bit re it running out of time but I just email them saying it is activated and they leave you alone) and store it where you can find it uninstall the current version - keeping your settings and then install the new version from the storage site - I keep my downloads in an icon for Downloads on my desktop.

Wow! I didn't know that! I'm using the PURE 3.0.13.0.2.558 here.
I'll try to run it latter without protection to see if it changes anything.
The PC runs so much better without protection, until it gets infected of course, hurts me a little to have to use it.

Yep to be honest too (wish you had a name) I tried Pure once and for me too convoluted - my brother in the UK also had it on his and I think it dislikes "playing" with other programs more than the straight Internet security suite (KISS) .

There is a function that allows you to disable it for the time period you set instead of leaving yourself completely open See this How to enable/disable self-defense of Kaspersky PURE 3.0

A bit OT (off topic) I just bought the Android version today for my Samsung S5 and am itching to try it (cheap too) plus I found a 3 machine 2 year licence for $89 so work that one out for a daily price LOL!! I'll save you the maths - $0.04 a day

You were right! It is a conflict with windows and kaspersky.
I turned kaspersky off then on again, and instant viewer worked. Works fine without protection, but when I turn on kaspersky, about 15s latter it doesn't work anymore.
It's not solved but now at least I know the cause of it.

Ok too that means it is just matter of finding in the Kaspersky a setting that will allow the thing to work I will have a scratch around and see what I can find out. There must be one because my Sandy Bridge has the x4 and I have no problems and it is a pity am away from home at the moment or ai could have a quick look.
It is running 2014 internet security - I know that is not the Kaspersky software you are running. So I will have a scratch around - if necessary would you consider the internet security instead of Pure?, because I think I mentioned it before I tried Pure once but found it quite complicated.

If you do you can only buy the 2014 at the moment but what I did was to download the 2015 uninstall the 14 and install and activate the 15 with the same activation code used for the 14. I do this each time a new version comes out as a matter of fact
The GUI on the 15 is the best one I have seen yet and I have been using KISS since the 2010 version. Now if it is expense that is a problem then it may not be an option but if it were me the $50 (out here) for the KISS would be worth it eve for getting rid of your problem.

Well the features that I don't use are the ones the other version don't have, I might change it, but the for this keyboard function, I don't know if I should.
So far not Microsoft or Kaspersky helped me with this issue.
I looked over the settings on Pure, but haven't found anything yet.
I'm using the old alt+tab and flip.

Well for my money too I would just go with the ordinary internet security it at least has the safe money feature which is probably one of the best features of it. It is as good as they come in my view and I even run aid for real time MBAM with it, plus I keep SuperAntiSpyware and ADWCleaner as on call scanners that I run from time to time. Right now without looking I cannot remember the ins and outs of Pure so I cannot comment on why you should keep it.
Now I know it is all money but again is the Pure worth the grief with the X4. Now I know the X4 works well with KISS on my Sandy Bridge although it is running 8.1 but was on 7. In fact on my Ivy Bridge with the X6 it takes longer to fire up than the X4.
A bit of a quandary for you I suppose but I might still have a dig around and go into the Kaspersky forum (the international one not the local Australian one) and ask in there.
Hang in there for a little longer mate you are being very patient I have to say with what is probably a simple fix.

Ok mate an update I have posted a query on the Kaspersky forum re the problem and have asked what if any settings should be tinkered with to stop this conflict with the Pure. Now I would not hold your breath too long as they can be quite long winded as I think I mentioned before.
