Solved Microsoft Sync Toy

Been using the above for a while but cant seem to be clear on the settings for backing up my documents to an external HDD.
There are three options:-
Synchronize
Echo
Contribute.
At the moment I have it set on the Echo mode,Been thinking is that the best option to have it set on.
I would really like to know if anyone else uses this piece of software that can give me some thoughts on this please.
I'm using windows 7 home premium .

ECHO is the safest option to use, so if in doubt use that.
