Solved Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Installer Error

BTW here's my C++ installs.....

Not that it is causing me any trouble, but I do not have the C++ 2010 version yet.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I imagine I will be asked to install it if it is needed and I would not have to concern myself until then.

..Or should I tempt fate and see if I run into the same situation? :shock:

Those just came out this past Tuesday. 64 and 86 versions.

You should have them if you did the April 12 updates.

I have the 64, and 86 updates for C++ '05, and '08. Installed them along with the other thirteen. Also had .NET3.5, and .NET4.

I wonder?.... If it is because my OS version is Home Premium, and you and sygnus are Pro and Ultimate respectively.

This could be a matter of antimalware, and firewall programs blocking the install.

Guys, I've gone ahead and reformat my HDD, and installed a Fresh Copy of Windows...still get the same error when trying to install Visual C++.

I'd just like to say, that I have Windows 7 SP1 installed, and Visual C++ has now also been installed and seems to be functioning as it should do. I'd like to thank all of the members of SevenForums that has taken their time to help me with my issues, and I appreciate the support given by these individuals. (You know who are are guys.)

Don't get me wrong here, I could be quite so wrong. However, I did a fresh install, backed up my Documents, Music, Video's Pictures etc, and transfered them to my 500GB External Hard Disk. I kept getting Blue Screen's in the middle of the Windows Installation when the DVD was in my BluRay Drive, so I put it in my Samsung External DVD/R and started the installation, format my 1TB Western Digital Hard Disk, and tried reinstalling. It installed Windows successfully, so I began to install my updates, programs etc. Well, when it came to the update of Visual C++ it failed giving the same error. Then Service Pack 1 came up AFTER I disabled Windows Firewall.

Anyway, I installed SP1, then upcame the Visual C++ update again...so I attempted to reinstall it. And hey presto, it installed successfully.

All I did really was disable my Firewall, but since my old Windows Installation may have been corrupt a little.

Do you have problems with other CD/DVDs in the Blue-Ray? The Windows disk sure did not like it.

All other Discs work perfectly fine in the Blue-Ray drive.

Make sure your firewall, and your antimalware programs are turned back on.
Give it a few days, then if your machine seems to be running okay you can mark this one solved.
