hi

i have 2 versions of visual c++ installed in win7 64bit ultimate now i know that they are required for gaming which i do on my pc

but recently i installed visual c++ 2012 for a new game and now i am thinking can i delete my older versions i.e 2008 and 2010 without making any errors in the game that i play because i know some trouble may arise if i removed them so i am asking the professionals

does the 2012 version covers the previous updated or do i need the older version now as well?

Just install the 2012 version, having both versions won't cause problems, and I'm sure you require the older versions for backwards compatibility for older programs.

No, don't delete older versions, as for this particular case, the newer versions do NOT replace the newer. Each program is compiled tied to a specific version of the runtime, and will work only when that one is present, regardless of others (older or newer). Just leave every version installed (they're not heavyweight) and you'll be fine, 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2012, each in both 32 and 64 bits versions.
