Microsoft's fiscal 2015 is winding down, which means, as usual, it's time for another company reorg.

CEO Satya Nadella notified company employees of the newest tweaks to the corporate structure via a June 17 memo (which Microsoft has posted on its Web site).

A number of long-time execs are leaving the company as the new fiscal year begins. Stephen Elop, head of Microsoft's devices business, is out, as is Kirill Tatarinov, who has headed the Dynamics business. Eric Rudder, who has led a number of teams, and most recently, Advanced Technology and Education, is leaving, as is Mark Penn, who has been chief insights officer and the originator of Microsoft's now-defunct Scroogled campaign.

A number of the current leaders are staying, but will be leading reconfigured teams.Terry Myerson will lead the combined Windows and Devices Group, taking over the team formerly led by Elop. Scott Guthrie will continue to lead Cloud and Enterprise, which will now also include the Dynamics ERP and CRM products. Qi Lu remains as head of Applications and Services Group, and will now also oversee Education, as well.

Most of the changes take effect today, June 17, though Penn isn't officially gone until September.

Post-reorg, the new Microsoft senior leadership now includes:...

That's not going to last. It sounds like the Chief doesn't know where the Indians are. I'd hate to have that "Chief of Staff" job. You'd never get any sleep. Any corporate head knows you can't align engineering with administration and be a success. That's like putting the well-drillers in charge of human resources. I can see MS going on the block if someone came up with a cool $380B. No wonder they've been putting out so many misses lately. It's going to get worse.

The entire group responsible for Windows 10 should be fired. Microsoft is having to give it away and although the wild and crazy fanbois on the Windows 10 website cannot wait for it to be released. When it is released prepare for it to be a buggy mess with caveman style icons (Wait, that is an insult to Cavemen). The crazy graphics designer who convinced the operating systems team that the less is more so we can have 2 colour icons. Hopefully someone will come to their senses when 10 does not get the take up they expected. I for one am staying on Windows 7 for at least the next few years. Cortana I have absolutely no interest in. This is an operating system to interface between me and the computer. The technology is in its infancy and the CPU power to resolve good answer to the question that you asked is substantial. I am not impressed with Windows 10 in the way I was impressed by Windows 7 when that OS came out.

Indianatome

The part I am hearing people complain about in windows 10, is the forced auto updates without having the option to delay them from being installed. There is also a rumor unconfirmed that you will be forced to reboot 2 hours after updates are installed even if you are working on the computer, I hope that is wrong.

My issue in previous builds you could have as many icons on the start menu/screen. Now, they reduced that in 10130 which I don't like. Referring to the Windows update issue, I already came across a driver problem when plugging an audio device in, it doesn't disable the internal speakers. Now, that could be the ear phone but I rolled back the driver and it did disable the internal speakers when plugging in an audio device. Hopefully this will also be fixed. My other issue with windows 10 is no dvd player. I could install vlc but that may or may not be illegal in the U.S.

I have done a clean install of Windows 7 using Dell re-installation disk (Dell sent me one). I also use Free Macrium reflect backup and restore.
The team behind Windows 7 should take over Windows 10. This is the worse thing I've seen so far.
