If so, please Post them for me.

My HP 8300 CMT is dead in the water and the Codes might help me figure out why.

I got anxious and based upon the symptoms I was able to observe, NOT the Codes, I removed the Heat Sink and CPU.
I cleaned both surfaces and applied Thermal Paste and reinstalled the CPU and Heat Sink.

Same symptoms were re-observed, they are:

Four Beeps then over a few seconds, the CPU Fan starts to accelerate into a super high speed.
At this point I removed the Power Plug as the Power On / Off Switch had no effect.

Now that I have the Listing of the Post Codes, I will retry and document the Codes I hear / see.

Suprise, surprise!

Still frustrated but still in the hunt, I tried another re-start.
The PC powered up and booted.
I assumed that the Thermal Paste had sufficiently melted from the X application and now covered more of the CPU/Heat Sink.
Famous last words!
The PC powered up and booted, once!
I tried a re-start, and it failed again, and again.
I powered it down and went to bed.

This morning, I read / re-read the Post Codes and resolved to continue trying.
With the knowledge from the Post Code Listing, and my keen right ear, I heard five (5) beeps.
This took me to the Post Code Listing, and it suggested a Memory Error and reseating them could fix it.
I gave it a try and sure enough it did!
I Restarted several times and tried Powering off and, on several times, and it appears that the "FIX" worked.

Thank you so much for Posting the location of the Post Codes.
Without them, I'd have been in deep feces.

My very best regards,

Mike
