Mini SD Card Reader - tells me to format

Details,

Just moved to W7 from XP. I have everything working - except my USB Mini SD Card reader.

I have a Cyclo DS card and have been accessing the card - no problem through XP. The card is formatted as a FAT32 (as required).

When I put it in with W7 - it tells me that I have to format it first.:sarc:

The obvious solution is to copy everything using an XP installation and then format.

I just wanna know why doesn't it work?

I'm having the same problem. Bought a new Gateway desktop from Tiger direct and as it was refurbished i thought it was possibly a setting - but haven't found anything that in any way will affect it.

If this is Window's 7 problem I would love to see a solution. It's embarassing to have this wonderful computer that should be able to read any disk format and have to go to the front desk to get a card reader any time I need to download pics and the agent hasn't brought a cable.
