Ive an all-in-one computer but would like to mirror the hard drive with an external usb drive, main hd 1T internal and 2T external partioned into 2x1T one for mirror and other for data. Is this possable, running 7 Ultimate.

Do you really want to mirror (each byte exists twice the moment it gets written) Then you should look into RAID controllers that support RAID1 (but that should be done with identical drives so you could swap out the defective boot/system disk for the external one)
If you just want to image/backup the partition or the whole HDD then I suggest
Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download (IMHO much better than the build in method)
