Welcome to Seven Forums.

Is your installation complete?

What stage are you in when you receive error?

Does the HD show up during the install?

A little more information and we can try to help.

Not sure what information I can give you, but here goes.
Installation stalls because the installer decides to tell me during setup that there are no device drivers installed for the DVD-RW drive, and is telling me to broswe to where they are or else remove the setup DVD and insert a disc with the drivers located on it.
It's a Pioneer DVR-S18 on an Intel DP55KG Mobo.
SATA DVD-RW (there are no IDE ports on this mobo at all)
i7 and 8Gb DDR3
SATA HDD, all detecting in BIOS
SATA set to IDE in BIOS

What should I do? W7 64-bit Professional, genuine DVD, fresh installation on empty system with no OS at all

First thing I would suggest is to change the BIOS setting from IDE to AHCI or RAID (if your planning to use RAID).

AHCI is for SATA components, HD, DVD etc.
If AHCI or RAID is set in the BIOS it will install the drivers.

Win7 is trying to find IDE drivers for a SATA DVD.

Change the BIOS and try the install again.

If you still have problems with the DVD drive try a USB memory key.
Click :ar: USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

Check Intels MOBO driver site, it shows RAID drivers, you can use these even if your not going to use a RAID setup.

That just blew it completely.
Set SATA to ACHI, restarted, and now I do not even get to the Intel Splash Screen.
Going to open up & reset the BIOS to defaults.

Seems that I MUST have things set to IDE.
Why?
All drives are SATA, there are no IDE controllers on the motherboard at all.

EDIT.
Will creating a USB drive install (max is 4Gb here) work?
This is W7 64 bit, and all other OS here are 32-bit

Do you have a green light on the MOBO?

Check all the connections are secure.
Re-seat the RAM and graphics cards.

Is your monitor connected by DVI or VGA?

Check the tutorial I posted, you can put the Win7 installation on a 4GB USB drive.

What OS was installed previously?
Are you currently or planning on Dual Booting?

Check this sticky thread and try to answer all the questions you can, Questions to use for help with Installation Issues

The more information you give us the better we can understand what might be causing the problem.

All seems to be hinging on the setup error where the installation/setup procedure is telling me that there are no valid drivers for the CD/DVD-RW.
As I have already stated - quite clearly - there is no installed OS in this setup.
As soon as it gets to this point, I am prompted to locate the drivers for the DVD-RW drive.
I thought they were generic. It seems to use the drive okay whilst loading setup files.
I enter language (English) it prepares to start & fails because of no drivers for the DVD drive.
Cannot install OS - there is no other OS installed.

How much plainer can I put it, please?

Solved.
This time, I left it alone at the default language - English United States with US Keyboard layout.
It liked this, and did not moan about missing DVD-RW drivers.
The only difference this time was that I did not set the language options correctly for the country IU live in & bought all the equipment in.

Mind your Language!!

I have been fighting with what appears to be a perennial favourite installation problem.
Missing SATA drivers for the CD/DVD-RW drive on a totally SATA system.

Turned out that the problem was caused by setting the language for install to English - United Kingdom & keyboard to English British instead of the default US.

Now setup continues past the point where it previously failed because of allegedly missing drivers! I finally got to pick one of the 3HDD installedto copy files to, and am installing right now.

Fingers crossed

Just going by the last comment "and all other OS here are 32-bit"

It's helpful to know as much as possible.
