Solved Missing Driver when downgrading from W10 to W7Pro?

I paid to have the W10 hard drive in my laptop replaced with a SSD so I could install W7Pro.
I purchased a Microsoft W7Pro CD and installed it on my laptops new SSD.
After the install, the following Drivers are missing from the Device Manager:

Network ControllerPCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller

PCI Encryption/Decryption Controller
SM Bus ControllerUniversal Serial Bus (USB) ControllerUnknown DeviceUnknown DeviceUnknown DeviceUnknown Device

I guess that the reason I cannot get on the Internet to get updates is the missing Network Controller.

Can anyone help me get this Driver and / or the others?

You should be able to get win 7 drivers from the motherboard/ laptop manufacturer site.

Nobody can give any other advice, because you haven't told us the laptop machine and model.

It is an HP Laptop, Model # 17-bs032ds.

HP only has Windows 10 drivers for this model. Some hardware may not have drivers, even drivers from some other source, available for Win 7 and thus not all devices/ports will work.


Best option is to leave it with Win 10 for full capability.

For me, W10 just doesn't do it.
I am 74, used XP and W7 since they came out.
My mind and needs are not in tune with W8, W8.1 or 10.
I prefer a Flip Phone vs. a Smart Phone.
Any recommendations on 'potential' places or ways to get any Drivers would be appreciated.

Drivers have to come from the manufacturer and any more they only go with 10. So unless you can write your own your best bet on new devices is to downgrade to 10.

You can go with Linux.

I'm 81 but accepted Win 10. Managing "change" is required. But, I'm a retired Computer and electronics techie.

I seriously doubt that you will be able to find all the needed drivers.

I also work the Dell forums and have seen similar issues with users that wanted to install Win 7 on a new Dell so its not just a HP issue.

I would like to try it but with the missing Drivers, I have no access to the Internet. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can overcome this issue?

Check in device manager or under msinfo32>components>problem devices to get the ID for your network device.

You can export the ID as a text file. Then on a working machine, search the net for that ID.

Then search fot the pnp id on the net

e.g. the problem device in the screenshots above:

An alternative is to download the entire set of packs ( SDI FULL ) on a working machine, then copy it onto the laptop and run it.
