Missing encrypted folder

I was trying to encrypt a folder (I can't remember why, I think I was just curious about what it did and I planned to decrypt it after, stupid I know) but after about 2 seconds I accidentally cancelled it and now the entire folder is missing, it just disappeared. I have no idea where it is but I had a bunch of files in it that I would like to keep. Where is it and how can I get the folder back?

And yes I know it was really really stupid of me to do this, I honestly can't remember why I even tried encrypting the folder. If no one knows how to fix this that's okay, I'll accept the consequences of my stupidity, but I just want to make sure there's no way I can get it back.
