Missing hard drive space

Hi all,

I've been battling this problem on and off for a while and am making one last ditch effort before taking it somewhere to be looked at, so hopefully someone can help!

My computer had a problem during a windows update which completely wiped out the windows system.

Eventually I re-installed a copy of Windows, but in doing so I am missing almost all the space for my hard drive.

In disk management it shows:
Drive C with a capacity of 29.72 GB and also a system reserved drive of 100 MB.

And that's it.

When I bought the computer and before all the problems it had a 2 TB main drive.

Any ideas on how to get back the missing memory? I've tried a partition recovery hoping that might help, but no luck... and it's not possible on either drive to extend the volume.

Hi jayco33, welcome to the Forum.

Could you supply a screen shot of Disc management please. This will give us an idea of what partitions are on the HDD. The following Forum tutorial will show you how to do that.

Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image - Windows 7 Help Forums

Then read through item 7 of the tutorial on how to upload the screen shot to the Forum.

Don't see any 2T HDD on your computer, only a 30G HDD.
All other disks are removable.
Are you sure you had a 2T disk?

Yes, I had a fully functioning computer before. Now there was barely enough room to upload the disk management snip.

I've done nothing to the pc except to reinstall Windows.

Here are the original specs:

The Disc Management screen shot that you supplied certainly does not show a 2 TB HDD. I see you have a lot of other HDD that are not connected showing in the screen shot. Could have changed your main OS HDD as some stage using a much smaller HDD. Are any of the disconnected HDDs 2TB. It does seem that there is a mix up somewhere.
