Missing Icons on Taskbar

I had installed Avast Premier Security Suite and my wife decided to use on of Avast options where it would hide said icons but made the mistake of not bringing them back before she decided it wasn't of any use. I'm sorry but I can't remember the name of it since they no longer included with Avast Premium Security. I've tried many tricks from here using different ones ie: Rebuild_Icon_Cache.bat Enable_Action_Center_Notification_Icon.reg along with a text file

Make sure the option for showing icons is selected : rightclick Desktop>view>'Show Desktop Icons'
Upon such a boot and icons are gone, uncheck the option (if already checked), and then check it again.
The icons should appear...still the issue isn't resolved.
So first try to rebuild your icon chache :
Launch taskmgr.exe.
right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process.
From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run…)
CMD.EXE, and click OK
type the commands :
CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local ENTER
DEL IconCache.db /a ENTER
EXIT
In Task Manager, click File, select New Task (Run…)
Type EXPLORER.EXE, click OK.
Reboot.

I've tried all of them but to no avail. I'm at a loss on how to fix this since all of the above where tried but no success.
I'm hoping some member or members can give help and some direction on fixing this very annoying problem.
She is running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I would appreciate any help in getting them back. Also Avast Premier and Avast Premium Suite have changed and as stated I can't remember what the name of the app In Premier. I've checked Avast home site without finding any reference to the name of it.

In the past, when I've messed something up on my PC, and needed a quick recovery, I turn to the "System Restore" feature.
It works great if some #$^& has not turned that feature OFF.
And, on my own PC, that just does not happen.

If for some weird reason, that does not work, I turn to my Latest Ghost Backup of my C: drive.
A quick Ghost Restore, can take care of even the worse Screw-Ups.

Short of doing an OS Re-Install, System Restore should always be your first option.
