missing icons

Just had a situation when I rebooted, it said preparing desktop like it does when you boot for the first time after an install. Text was un aliased as if cleartype was disabled.

I rebooted a couple more times and text is now normal but the icons are still missing.



Also snipping tool is supposed to remember which image format to save the screenshot as but it had forgotten that too. Its like something has been reset.

Any automatic updates other than antivirus set?

As far as I know just WU. Ive just also had problems getting online. The troubleshooter said it was experiencing problems but Im back online now.

Does 7100 have any known bugs and should I consider installing 7127?

I have also noted that some icons have disappeared (seldom) and I've had to relace them. Another thing that I have noticed with all windows programs is that If I create a shortcut from a forum etc on the desktop or in a folder on the desktop at some point the forum icon will change to a generic microsoft (blue globe with win 7) after some days or after booting the computer.
Does anyone have tricks up your sleeve to fix this problem?

As mentioned in the other forum, it seems to be a bug that if you have more than 70 programs listed in the start menu, they disappear. Im hoping this has been fixed in build 7127.
