Solved Missing links

I did four things last week: I installed a Microsoft webcam; I loaded Skype; I updated Chrome; I uninstalled Chrome (because it insists on me signing up for a more wonderful experience).
Then I discovered that links in emails now return this message: 'Microsoft Outlook: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.'
I re-loaded Chrome and the problem went away; took it out, and it came back.
Chrome was freezing all the time, which is why I downloaded the latest version, but I am not going to set up an account with them so it stays out. Please advise.

also, what browser are you using now? you could make internet explorer your default browser.

the IE 64bit is not recommended yet and can't be set as a default browser so I've always used IE32 as the default. I've reset, but that didn't help. I've searched for Chrome on the system but it is clear (including the registry). I remember when setting up Skype it asked if I wanted to connect directly from emails and I said no, but uninstalling, then reinstalling Skype didn't make any difference, but I wasn't shown those options again so I maybe need to dig deeper there. I will look at this Quick Fix thank-you.

Mea Culpa. Too many windows open at once and I didn't see the [You must restart] window. Did a restart and the problem has been fixed. Thank-you Kool Kat and thank-you Sevenforums. Now I need to know why it happened.

you're right. even i have trouble with ie x64bit opening at default.
