I just built a new Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Media Center PC for the living room, connected to the TV and internet. I copied some DVD movies that I own to the hard drive, but upon launching the Media Center program, only some of the movies display metadata-- jpegs of the movie cover and synopsis, etc. Other movie icons are generic and blanc, no synopsis or art work. I have installed YAMMM and File2Folder Script 1.0, as outlined by the How-To-Geek article Add Images and Metadata to Windows 7 Media Center Movie Library. However this strategy only updated some of the generic movie icons. Others remain generic with no synopsis. Does anyone know why this happens or how I can fix it?
Thanks for the info! But as noted in my post, I had YAMMM installed and it didn't seem to update the data for all of my movies. There were always several generic movie icons with no synopsis. Perhaps I didn't configure it properly? In any case, after much searching on the net, I have settles on a program called DVD Library Manager which I found at:
It not only downloads images and synopsis for your blank generic movie icons, but it also allows you to edit the synopsis and put any review of the movie in there that you like, any image for the movie art. Simple and easy to use.
"DVD Library Manager allows you to download movie information from Amazon or IMDB then save the movie details and even cover art to your media center. Even better, you can edit the information once it has been entered into the system. Managing your movie information with DVD Library Manager is a snap."
