Sometimes while navigating the web I get an error box that pops up and says: "The program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." It's happened many times before but until recently I haven't looked into it. The latest it is happening to me is at the website canyourunit.com. Any help is appreciated.

Oh my god, thank you for that link. I tried putting it in the system32 folder before, but that did not work. Thanks to the link I found out you need to place it in SysWOW64 for 64 bit Windows. Everything is running great again.

After MSVCR71.dll disappeared from C:\System32 (cause unknown), various update programs would no longer work. So I downloaded a new version into both System32 and SysWOW64 then did a restart. But when I register the dll, I get an error message: "The module "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSVCR71.dll was loaded but the entry-point DllRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSVCR71.dll is a valid DLL or OCX file and try again." I assumed that MSVCR71.dll would export DllRegisterServer, but apparently it doesn't. Not sure how to fix this.
