Hi, and thanks for this great forum!

I've tried sorting this problem but haven't seen an answer specific for my problem.

I created a library called "Utilities" (for my portable utilities that I use regularly.)

It is there but it is no longer visible and I can't recreate it from Windows Explorer. When I try to recreate it I get the message:

"Do you want to rename New Library folder to Utilities (2). There is already a folder with the same name in this location.

(I tried restoring default folders Libraries >>> (Right Click) Restore Default Libraries as well, but of course. nothing happened.)

When I go to:
C:\Users\Daffyd\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries

the Utilities library is not visible and can't be recreated as I get the same message as above. (But I can create a regular Utilities file folder, but needless to say it doesn't show up in the Windows Explorer Libraries)

I already have folders visible:
Control Panel >>> Folder Options >>> Show all Folders
Control Panel >>> Folder Options >>> View>> Show hidden files folders and drives

I'm at a loss? Suggestions?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Thanks for the welcome and suggestion Brink!

I tried doing that with the cmd prompt (also right clicking and running as admin), rebooting, but no luck.

As a test, see if doing step 4 in OPTION ONE below to show hidden protected OS files will have the library show in your C:\Users\Daffyd\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries folder afterwards.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/394-hidden-files-folders-show-hide.html

If it does, then see if running the command below helps to keep it showing after setting to hide protected OS files back.

attrib -s "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Libraries\Utilities.library-ms"

Hi Brink, followed your instructions and while the desktop.ini file is now visible, the Utilities library was not visible. But I redid the instructions, did a full reboot and the folder re-appeared.

Many thanks!
