Missing space on new 120 GB ssd

I have an out of the box 120 gig Intel SSD which is saying I currently have 57.9 GB free of 96.6 GB. (I can account for what space I have used, this is not the problem).

The problems is that while I understand the drive will have some space reduction meaning not all 120 GB is useable but 23.4 GB is a bit much, no??

Try clicking start, right click computer, select manage. In the left column select disk management. Find your SSD and the C partition, right click it and select extend partition. The message it gives should extend the partition to the remainder of the drive.
