Mistakenly deleted Installer folder contents - now what?

Hi guys,

By my mistake I deleted the windows installer folder contents and now I can't uninstall some programs, that turned into a generic icon.

How can I solve this issue?

Try a System Restore to a point before you deleted the folder.

I don't have any restore point before the time I deleted it.

What does it say when you try to delete the programs with generic icons through Add/Remove programs?

On some of them, it prompts for the location of the *.msi package.
On others like office, the setup fails with an error message "uninstall did not complete sucessfully".

Try to reinstall those programs then uninstall

It doesn't allow me to reinstall them, the setup of Office for instance, doesn't work.

Any chance the folder is in the recycle bin?

No, the content is lost but now that you told me that, there are programs that can recover deleted files, I will check if I can use one of those, if not, I need to reinstall windows?
