Are HD MKV files available through media center in Win7 x64?

Last time I used it aside from TV, it wouldn't play xvid or mkv files.

Install the Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs and then install the Shark007.net - x64 Codecs and you'll be able to play anything in Media Center. Be sure to use the Filetype Association button on the Help TAB of the 32bit Settings Application after installation and that will setup everything for you.

There is one other small trick if you want to use standalone FLAC audio files in x64 Media Center. On the Config TAB of the x64 Settings Application, select the x64 WMP as default, and then set it back to 32bit.

Thumbnails ...
Make sure FFDshow is selected on the righthand side of the H264 TAB...

Then you need to clear your thumbnail cache by utilizing the Disk Cleanup Tool - to find it, navigating the startmenu
Accessories | System Tools | Disk Cleanup

The tool defaults to your Windows Drive, click OK
In the next window that appears, be sure the box next to Thumbnails is checked, press OK
Reboot your system
