Mobile Device Centre / Outlook Sync Problems

I used to sync my PC and work laptop via my Dell Axim x51v PDA under Vista without issues.

Since upgrading to W7 RC - Mobile Device Center has become very fussy about sync with outlook, -such that outlook has to be closed before linking my PDA, - or it wont sync at all.

Anyone else had problems? -

thanks

Lots of questions, but it seems there is nobody there to answer.
I have the same problem, except that I skipped Vista & have 2 pda - a x50v and a x51v. One runs WM6.1 & the other WM6.5. Both work fine with my XPPro laptop. Neither will sync with new high-end home built desktop. Bluetooth or usb.

It would never have occurred to me to shut down Outlook. Up until now, the one constant in synchronizing PPCs has been that Outlook MUST be on before you try to connect via AS or WMDC. I'll try that, and I'll also upgrade my drivers and WMDC to version 6.1 (which is also the version of Win Mo I run on this iPAQ 211. (I haven't tried to sync my fUZE yet.) Fortunately, I can still sync with my Vista Vaio laptop, so I'm just waiting for someone to figure out the step by step instructions for syncing on Win 7. (Remember when some Microsoft MVP, I believe) discovered that, among other things, the sync cable HAD TO be connected through a direct USB port, not through a hub? I expect we're dealing with something like that here.

Bump...sort of.

I manaaged to get my iPAQ to sync with my Win 7 64-bit tower. Once. I've now tried three times since and failed to even wake up the Windows Mobile Device Manager. Judging by the forums here and around, this is a common problem. Anyone here solved it yet?
