So I found out how to gain the rights needed to replace shsvcs.dll themeui.dll and uxtheme.dll for the custom themes thanks to this forum, however when I did my computer had a mental breakdown.

Got an error at login and didn't get any further.

LogonUi.exe - entry point not Found
the procedure entry point RegQueryValueErW could not be located in the dynamic Link library KERNLELBASE.dll

Stupid me had not made a backup, so took me a while to get it sorted, luckely I saved backup of the three files which I eventually managed to replace the modified with.

But now I'm back to square one, so what I sort of wonder is what made this happen? did I use the wrong dlls for my system? I download the 64bit as I've got the 64bit system. but reading the folder it does say "AMD64" in the end, I use intel, any difference?

the AMD64 and intel thingy dont make any difference. Restore the original files and then try to patch it again.
Or use this app: http://soft3.wmzhe.com/download/deepxw/UniversalThemePatcher_20090409.zip

hehe, good to know, I'll make sure to make a backup this time ;)

So it's just something that happens sometimes for no reason?

When i tried to manually replace the dll files with the patched one, I had a hard time. When I used the app, it was done within 1 minute.

Hi! I've just got the exact same problem! I'm posting this from my iPhone. Please tell me how you fixed the problem. I have a backup of the 3 files in a folder at desktop, but I can't logon. Please tell me how you did it
