Hello all,

So today I started up my laptop (nothing wrong with it's screen) but when i powered up my vga monitor. I noticed that the NO SIGNAL and blue border were bright and saturated so when i plugged in the cord into the vga slot, I noticed 3 things:

1. The picture was too bright.

2. The mouse's trail was laggy. Scrolling down and up was like having motion blur turned on.

3. The image was ghosting EVERYTHING on the screen. But, oddly, it would disappear in about a minute or so.

ADD: I had this problem yesterday, I messed around with the settings in catalyst and it fixed itself someway or somehow. Don't know why.

I already tried going in catalyst and messing around with the display properties. but it still lags the mouse and everything. I already tried to go on a LCD fixer but it did nothing at all. Also, I looked very closely and I noticed that there are these dot like pixels interchanging. I'm all out of options, should i just scrap it altogether and get a new monitor? Please help.

Sounds like perhaps the TCON (timing control board) in the monitor is going bad. It's thermal related, problem until warms up. Likely will take longer and longer to correct itself. You can confirm by connecting to another computer and see if same issue. A Guy

I see. Also, I even have the monitor unhooked, and the "No Signal" box just fades into the picture too. I mean even keeping it turned off doesn't help nor, keeping it on. Do you recommend that i just scrap it and get a new one or is it a easy fix somehow? Thanks for the response BTW.

I am a TV tech, very seldom is it worthwhile to fix. The fix will likely exceed the cost of a new one. If you have the wherewithal, opportunity to get a better one ;)
