Monitor flickers when turned on

So everyday when I wake up and turn on my monitor, the screen flickers like this for a good 5 minutes. It even makes a ticking sound when it does it, it is sort of old but very.

Any Ideas?

When you get the youtube brackets, paste just the part between the "=" and the "&" symbol if it is present. for your vid, you would put in 6kcQ6MEarrw

Sounds like it isn't working till it warms up

I don't know if the fix is easy. I would take it to a repair shop. a new cathode tube might be needed. as is, it would probably be more beneficial to upgrade to an LCD monitor instead.

Is this the Syncmaster noted in your specs? If so, it's a LCD display. Apparently, a 60Hz fixed refresh rate.

Use this link to test the monitor. If it checks out, verify the resolution settings. Then verify these match your driver settings.

If everything else checks out, try a new cable. If the problem continues, it could be that the display is about to check-out.
