I was away for about 30mins from my PC while it was still running, when I came back the monitor was blank with the PC running, couldn't turn the monitor on at all, I tried disconnecting the cables but no luck.

I recently got this GTX 770 2GB DirectCU II and the Corsair CX750M

What seems to be the problem?
Thanks

How do you have your Power Options set and what is listed in "Turn off the display"? You should be able to just move the mouse to turn the display back on. Also, most displays will shut off if they loose a connection. (Meaning the cable may be bad.)

Yes, please try a lot more steps and document them:
  • Try waking the machine via mouse or keyboard (sometimes power button).
  • Reboot the machine.
  • Reboot into safe mode.
  • Disconnect and reconnect the cable.
