LG flatron l222ws monitor goes to power saving mode during windows 7 installation, after i click install now, while my mouse arrow is that spinning circle,
also, moving the mouse or pressing buttons on keyboard do not wake it up

specs are the ones in profile, there is already a copy of windows on the machine but i booted from DVD, so they should not interfere

Hey there,

Have you got a ps/2 keyboard and mouse that you could use?

If so, when the monitor goes to sleep, you should be able to wake it with these two connections because you don't need to install ps/2 connections. it automatically detects them on start up.

If not, I know this sounds simple, but try and just keep clicking and typing on your keyboard and mouse so that your monitor should not have time to go into sleep?

Try these and please tell me the results so I can try and help you further.

You could try tweaing the Bios as there is a powermode setting in there on some computer (like mine).
If not then the post above me sounds like a good idea a probably the best, as tweaking the BIOS can mess up your computer big time if you dont get it right.

bios options are the same as the last time i did a clean install of win 7, so i don't think its the problem in them,

i checked and turned off every power save thing i could see in bios anyway,

and i tried with optimized performance and default performance setting in bios

as for moving the mouse or typing, both are connected to the ps/2 slots and yes, i tried shaking the mouse during the installation, no success

i am booting with the usb with stick, and with dvd to no avail, monitor is connected via the dvi slot on 5770

i have read that the dvi port could cause trouble, so i will switch the graphic card with a spare x550 and see if that works

i believe i have solved the problem, it was in the 5770, as soon as i have replaced it with the x550 no power save.

30% through the installation and going smooth

thank you all for quick replies
