Monitor problem...guessing its a driver issue?

I was using Win Vista Ultimate 64bit just untill yesterday when I finally bought and installed Win7 Ultimate 64bit on a new SSD. Now after all the drivers were installed my Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD wont recognize 1920x1080 on my Win7 install. Technically I can change my desktop to 1920x1080 resolution and 32bit color, however my monitor does not nor try to auto-sync so I don't see the full display, but it is there. If I change the resolution to a lower to 1680x1050 or 1600x1200, my monitor auto-adjusts itself. I did try to manual adjust, however my monitor would not recognize as 1920x1040 but would rather just throw it to 1680x1050. I have installed my video card driver (the version on my Vista and the newer and even an older stable version) and my monitor driver (both the one that came with the CD and a newer one downloaded from the main site). I have just booted into my Vista Ultimate hard drive and the monitor does recognize the resolution 1920x1040 there. I am out of ideas, can someone please help me find a solution. Please and thanks

After going through every options in Catalyst Control Center, I went to borrow my uncle's DVI to DVI cable and after connecting it just once, my regular cable worked fine. And yes, I did unplug and try different DVI slots before, I however did not have a DVI to DVI.

Not sure if this also an issue, but when I try to watch a few HD videos on this computer on full size, the screen seems a bit more choppy, less smooth. I wonder if this is part of the issue?
