As topic says.

When ever I start a game the monitor goes blank, well almost blank (little white blinking cursor in top left) for a couple of seconds and then its fine again.

Anyone have this issue?

Hi F1aw1ess, welcome to the forums.

I can't be 100% certain but, it could be attributed to the game using a mode-switching action, accessing certain GFX drivers/hardware that Windows might not be using.

Are you running high powered games? (COD, GTA IV)....

This is the game/gpu adjusting your screen settings for best compatibility. You note that this only happens when starting games... that is the giveaway ... rest easy and enjoy the game...

Its all games, COD4, COD5, Need For Speed SHIFT, Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising.

It doesnt happen until I actually start a game, eg when the menu loads its fine its when i actually join a map.

I have my resolution set to the same as the desktop so there shouldnt be any adjusting needed.

I cant remember whether this has started happening when i installed Win7 or when I changed my GPU to a 5870?

It sounds like Windows 7 is utilizing a lot more hardware for the in-game graphics as menus don't require as much GPU processing power ;)

The other thing is did you uninstall all of the GTX260 Drivers before you changed your card to the ATI?

Yeah I did an uninstall of the old NVidia drivers and then sweeper in safe mode before installing the new card.

Will pop the old GTX 260 back in and make sure its a Win7 thing rather than an ATi problem.

Cheers for all your replies guys :D
