Solved monitor wont turn on after installing ide to sata adapter

Hey guys, I have used all my SATA ports on my motherboard (4 HDs on them), but i wanted to use my dvd burners, so I bought a IDE to SATA connector, to use on the DVD burners, the PC turns on and boots fine, but my monitor LG L192WS wont turn on, with the connector connected, what could be the problem.

Here is my confusion:
If the monitor will not turn on, how do you know the PC "boots fine"?
What do you see? Are there any error messages? How could you tell if there is no output on the monitor?

Do you mean that you eventually hear the Windows startup sound, but with nothing on the screen?

If so, then your new device may be conflicting with your video card. I assume if you remove it, all works normally?

If this is so, then try installing the new card in a different slot on the motherboard.

Yes I can hear windows booting, I cant install graphics card in another slot, only have 1, the monitor does not come out of standby, when I turn on PC, but windows boots fine (can hear everything in background), all I can think of is the adapter does not like being used for a dvd burner, only HDD?

Well, a working SATA card should work regardless of what SATA device you connect.

I suspect a bad SATA card, bad drivers, bad driver install, or IRQ conflict (although IRQ conflicts are pretty much a thing of the past unless your PC is really old). But the SATA card is conflicting with the video card in some way.

Does the SATA card go in a 16x PCI-e slot?

No its just an adapter with an ide connector on one side and a sata connector on the other, it use a ide cable to connect mother board, then plug adapter in the end of that cable and then it plugs straight in to the sata connector on dvd burner.

Apparently the computer does not like the configuration, is the dvd drive a SATA drive, it sounds like the ide cable is not changeing from ide to sata. Unplug one of the hdd's and use that sata cable for your dvd drive, does the computer boot and the monitor work. If yes then you know it's the ide to sata adapter that's causeing the problem.

Cheers guys it did not like to be connected to DVD burner, connected it to one of omy HDD, works fine, monitor turns on. So thanks guys.
