I must say it. I don't like forums. A bunch of cliquey nerdy types sitting around typing, because they've got nothing else to do. Talking inane rot and totally up themselves with self importance. I've tried it before and thought it was a total waste of their, and my, time. Then I chanced on Vista Forums and the guys and gals here. I still think the same about other peoples forums, but this is mine, and I love the chatter, the education, the feeling of belonging, the fact that we are all different and nobody says I'm talking cr**p, and best of all, the friendship. There should be a better word for what John and the team have done, and are doing here. Forum sounds so ordinary.

i personally had the exact same experience when i bumped into x64, it hooked me instantly!!, it was a completely different vibe from any other forum i belonged to or had visited, & its got even better with the ''7'' forum

there is a sense of community among the members which i think is great, you all have some great discussions, on a serious & a comical level & a nice mix of ppl with different skills, which as everyone knows makes for a greater wealth of knowledge...

so.... !!WELL DONE CHAPS!!, its only the beginning!!!

Well said. This and vistax64 are the only forums I am a member of. Three cheers to John and everyone else for this special place.

I belong to a few and I will say this one seems to run fairly "nice". Not nearly as hostile as other forums tend to get. Bravo on that.

The hostility is watched carefully (like my *cough cough* UAC posts and poll.

However, it is more than that - take a look at Vistax64 - there is so much going on there that it is impossible to not spend an hour there helping out - but the best part is the people that Shawn and John choose to surround themselves with - a quick sap on the wrist if they are getting out of hand, a quick boot if they go too far, and a quick acknowledgment if they contribute in all the right ways.
