Motherboard Monitor is an older CPU/temp monitor which I used to use on all of my XP machines. I'm running Wіn7 on an older ABIT mobo with an Athlon XP 2400, and the newer temp monitors (like Core Temp) don't support my older hardware, so I tried MM and it runs well on Wіn7. The software was abandoned by the writer long ago, so the key to getting it to work is older hardware that fits the programs older database, but I noticed that there are more than a few users here who are using older hardware and might benefit from using MM.

MajorGeeks seems to have the latest release:

I LOVE Abit motherboards! I've got an Abit KW7 socket A, and an Abit Fatal1ty socket 939. Which one are you running?

BTW, I use Sandra from SI software for monitoring all my hardware on older rigs. Unfortunately, you have to pay for the best version, but it's well worth it: CLICK ME

It monitors absolutely everything you can think of.

ABIT KR7A socket A. It's been plugging along for quite a while now - I ran XP on it for years and now Win7. My only two complaints are that it has a small built-on fan to cool the northbridge that started making noise, and it only supports 2GB RAM.

More of a band-aid than a fix as when a fan starts making noise it is usually going to die, but if you have something like sew machine oil or good old 3-in-1, you can oil the fan bearing to extend its life. Just need to remove the fan from the heatsink and carefully remove the label stuck on the underside to expose the hub. Then place no more than one drop of oil in it, gently blow on the fan to get the oil all over then repeat with the fan upside down on a paper towel or something so any excess comes out. Then just replace the label (or if it won't go back on a small piece or electrical tape will do), and put the fan back on.

tbplayer,
I've no idea whether this program works on ancient boards but for a quick oversight of temps I use speedfan.

SpeedFan http://www.almico.com/speedfan440.exe
monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures, shows hard disk temperatures, supports SCSI, can change fan speeds
