Solved Motherboard problem

For some reason my GIGABYTE GA-M720-US3 (rev. 1.0) mobo can not start up when i have my AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.10ghz Callisto 45nm installed, i tried and tried and never any luck, the monitor does not start up or anything, i have tested it and the mobo is all right. Now i m using my other mobo which is not as good. Sucks like.

Please help me with this/

Make sure the CPU is set completely. It might look like it is, but not be locked in. If it is not, it wont run.

I have seen this happen when I replaced a P4 and it wouldn't load....so I opened it back up and sure enough it wasn't locked in, It was close, but not locked in.

When you install a new motherboard, do you reinstall windows 7???????

no, but you might have to re-activate it as you will get a prompt that says it is not genuine. I think this is how it goes.

Check the Gigabyte web site and see what Bios version supports that CPU. A Bios upgrade may cure the problem.

So you never even see the POST/BIOS on the monitor? Are you trying onboard video or vid card?
