coupla questions:
how much you want to spend..?
do you mean you want to retain your existing RAM for the new board..?

you might also consider upgrading your graphics card, as well..
win7 has a lot to offer, and you'd be throttling it, somewhat..

Consider the ASUS P5Q SE Plus. It will take your 6600 CPU & RAM. You should consider upgrading & adding more RAM as well. Your 64 bit OS will benefit from adding more to the 2GB you have now. You'll also have the option of going to a Core2 Quad in the future if you like.

I'm quite satisfied with this board - as far as socket 775 goes.

NOTE - Did I read your System Specs wrong when I posted this - Or did you just update it? I see 4 GB of RAM now - which is much better.

Hiya, what other components do you have? A newer board may bring more incompatibility with your current hardware.

And the most important question; what is the intended use of the PC? You'll get pounded with suggestions for new equipment but not knowing the direction you're headed will reduce any benefit. And as the Bugmeister states, knowing your budget is a good starting point. Fill in some details and the suggestions can be more specific and beneficial.

If I'm correct, you're trying to keep your expense under 71 US Dollars - correct?

The motherboard I suggested & own myself - ASUS P5Q SE Plus - I bought used on eBay for $75. It works just fine. For what you seem to be willing to spend, the used motherboard route would be your best option. New socket 775 motherboards are becoming more difficult to find & still cost much more.

I found this on a UK site:

http://pcupgrade.co.uk/productdetails.asp?ProductID=2564&categoryid=260

It doesn't say it's no longer in stock, like some other links I found.

Here's another:
