Mouse Freeze on startup

When i start the computer i usually need to give between 1 and 5 restarts for the mouse to work.
The keyboard ctrl+alt+delete,arrow keys,enter work,but the alt+tab i saw it didn't work.
No potential harmful applications running at start(not in startup folder/msconfig/registry).
Tried disabling the windows scheduler.

If you can help i would also like a more detailed explanation of the resolving process since i am not so good with computers.Thanks

System Info:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

Hi George,

Please try to use the mouse with another 'USB port'. If the issue persists, try a known-good mouse with the system if available.

You may also try booting into 'Windows' in 'Safe Mode' to check the mouse performance. Also share if you experience issues with the working of other 'USB devices'.

It's a PS2 mouse so i can't swap locations.

The other USB devices seem ok.

Today i needed 2 restarts.
I first loged in Safe Mode, the mouse did not work.
Restarted in normal mode,the mouse did not work.
Restarted again in normal mode,the mouse worked....

Thank you for the reply.

The intermittent issue with the PS/2 mouse looks unusual; please make sure that the mouse is seated properly. Also examine the connector pins carefully; should not be broken or bent. You may also try the following troubleshooting steps:

- Try using a 'USB mouse', if available; do share if it works fine
- Go to 'Device Manager' > Uninstall the 'PS/2 Mouse' > 'power off' the system > Power it back on > Perform 'Windows Updates' (Windows may proactively reinstall the drivers)
