It is set not to in the BIOS, the device manager, all hid compliant areas, the mouse area in the control panel area, everything is set not to wake the computer, but it does.:mad::mad:
Any other suggestions???
Thanks.

Actually after I posted my reply I realised that you had already done that :o.

When you say the mouse wakes the computer, do you mean without the mouse being moved, or you don't want the mouse to wake the computer even when it is moved.

If the mouse is just randomly waking the computer, try another mouse to see if it does the same thing.

Do you have a wireless mouse and wireless keyboard using the same receiver?
If you do, disable wake for the keyboard and see if that helps.

If the mouse is just randomly waking the computer, try another mouse to see if it does the same thing.
It will wake the computer when moved, or any button on it clicked. Actually I just found that if the computer is shut off, hitting any key on the keyboard will start it up. Haven't tested if the mouse will do that also. Must be in the BIOS, but it is set to not wake or start from the keyboard or mouse?????

If the PC starts from shut off by the keyboard it sounds like a bios setting.
Have you read through the manual for your MB looking for any notes that might help explain this?
Maybe you'll see a setting/note in the manual that you missed looking in bios?
(I've done that) :(:o

You should update your specs showing more detail info such as the Asus MB model.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html
People here trying to help you can't get your MB manual as your specs just show "Asus" for the motherboard.

Here is a tutorial by Brink you can work through that might help:
Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems

You can also run this command from an elevated CMD prompt and see if you can find a clue in the report.
powercfg -energy

If you're using wireless mouse and KB, have you tested with wired?
In my experience wireless can cause issues...

I noticed in your specs that you have built the computer, so is it possible that you may have attached the panel switch wires incorrectly when installing the mother board.
This is just a thought that might be worth checking.

The mouse is wireless, the keyboard is a PS2. My computer statistics have changed as of now sorry about that. I will go into the BIOS and se what's what. I think I have everything set right, but will recheck. Need to set it up so the keyboard will not start the computer. Will let you know.

Ah, I haven't used PS2 in a long time...
I'm not sure what options are available for that in Windows or your MB bios :(

I had a USB keyboard, but could not get into the Bios with it. It was like the USB part wasn't working yet, but that was turned on in the Bios. I think it is called early start up for the USB part. But the mouse would work??

This may be caused by the PS2 driver being loaded for the PS2 keyboard & the USB keyboard driver not being loaded, for the USB keyboard.

You may have to uninstall the PS2 driver in Device Manager, restart your computer with the USB keyboard installed & it should load the appropriate driver.

OK, shut off the keyboard in the BIOS - nada. But also set it not to wake the computer in the device manager, and all is well. I have to push the button on the computer for a second to awaken it, but that's OK. Thanks for all the suggestions.
