I have looked all over the internet for an answer and tried many different troubleshooting solutions and haven't been able to nail it down... (When I say lag - just to clarify, I mean I will move the mouse and there's a slight, to moderate, delay until the pointer responds - very effing annoying!)

I have a Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS, 16 GB RAM, Intel Core i7 processor, and logitech MX1000 mouse

My mouse is experiencing a lag issue that is very annoying and it doesn't seem to be tied to any one program. I've checked my performance monitors and nothing appears to be out of the ordinary, I've checked my system for viruses (Comodo Antivirus), I've updated all my drivers - I've run out of ideas for what this could be!

A little history: I've had this mouse for a few years, and win7 x64 for a couple years nowand never had an issue... a few months ago I bought a new motherboard (ASUS P8Z68 V PRO Gen3) and Core i7, and reinstalled windows and didn't have a problem until about a month ago... but nothing in my pc had changed, no new software, no new hardware... I'm not sure why, but the mouse just started experiencing a lag...

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks all!

I would try this, remove the battery and zero the mouse by taping the buttons for one minute. Then go invest in a new battery or two and install and re-sync the mouse to it's receiver. As well clean the laser cover with a moist q-tip or compressed air or both.

I should have mentioned that the mouse works fine 75% of the time, but it's after my computer has been on for a while, then it starts to lag...

Then look to clear out unwanted programs in your start up from running behind the scenes via msconfig and restart. I only have needed programs open all others I must manually open.

Are you using the Logitech driver?
If not, you may want to install the latest Logitech driver for the MX1000, instead of using the windows driver.

I have the same problem ...

I have the same problem you are dealing with. My computer system is much like yours, W7 Professional, i7-2600K, high end Intel board, 8GB Ram(can build out to 32GB), etc. I use Windows Live Mail (I dislike Outlook - Acually I thought Outlook Express was the most intuitive program made but that's history) and I notice my USB connected mouse pointer lagging especially when typing email but in Word 2010 as well. The other very annoying issue is the keyboard (Genius brand like the mouse) and every now and then the # 1 light (I take it that's the connection light) goes out and suddenly no keyboard! I had the shop fix it the first time around and they lost the keyboard connection completely and found they needed to update the Bios but as stated the light still goes out at times.

And yet another issue is the sound you hear when a device is connected, you know that thud like sound? Well, if I haven't been at the computer for awhile and sit down to begin working, that thud sound will sometimes go off and it is often associated with the keyboard light going off and then back on. Yes, very frustrating even though other than these intermittent issues, this machine is definitely a smoker. Sorry so long. Any ideas?

Not sure
Please install latest setpoint software from Logitech site, then zero out the mouse and Logitech keyboard by removing batteries and tapping on the buttons and keys for a minute then re-insert batteries and have set point locate and identify both again.
