Mouse lag

Hi,

I've stumbled upon a bit of a strange problem with my mouse. When I run a game of some sort my mouse starts to lag after a while, there is no lag in the rendering of the graphics just the movement of my mouse or mouse pointer.

This can also occur randomly while just operating in windows without running any game 3D or non-3D, but if I unplug my USB mouse and plug it back in it starts working like normal. I have updated/re-installed the drivers for the mouse, also tried running without the special drivers for my mouse installed thus getting another aero related problem. But it works best with the drivers for the Razer Lachesis installed but as I mentioned before it the pointer starts lagging and if I just unplug and plug it back in it starts working so question is does anyone know what could cause this?

The computer is operating fine just the mouse pointer that acts up, also tried the tips in the following thread http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/6620-mouse-lag-freeze-2.html unfortunately to no good outcome :(

Cheers!

As you have probably discovered, this is a very common issue and all over the web with hundreds of suggestions and dozens of solutions that work for some but not for others. The best way to proceed in a case like this would be to try and narrow down the list of possible causes. To start, try these:

Disable Aero and run for a while. This will test to see if it is video or video driver related to Aero.

Run in Safe Mode. This will test to see if it is generally driver related.

Test the mouse on another computer. To see if the problem is in the mouse itself.

Your issue sounds a lot like this: "This appears to be a problem with Win7 (and Vista) 64-bit servicing the USB stack at some point."

So try this: Disconnect all of your USB connected devices and then shut down (off, not restart). Boot. Once back on the desktop, connect the mouse, then restart. Then connect the other USB devices, one at a time, and restart between each.

Let us know what you find.

Sorry to get back to you so long after my original post but as it turns out it had something to do with the mouse (Razer Lachesis) or it's drivers when the computer got a bit warmer, the result was that I bought a new mouse, a Logitech G700 (Wireless gaming mouse) that also has the ability to run as a normal mouse with cable.

Now I don't have the mouselag issue any more, a friend stated that computer mice are consumables ;) and that is how I fixed that problem and it was well worth the money.
